The Polaris

The Polaris is an all-original design, the bigger sibling of the Quantum Zen, but with tricks of its own.

EL34 power tubes for 1 to 30 watts

Instead of the EF86 pentode as in the Quantum Zen, the Polaris features a 12AU7 wired to behave like a pentode, so you get all the increased bandwidth, musical compression, and sweeter harmonics that pentodes are known for

The tuned baffle uses a sapele hardwood ring inset into birch - tuned to make a 1x12 sound HUGE, giving extra texture and push for big grand piano like lows

Hand selected solid pine cabinet, finger jointed on all sides, including the front panel

How does is sound?
Imagine big round vintage Tweed tones when clean, yet with a sweeter top end, and the notes ring out longer with more clarity. When driven, it can do the British-like crunch, but despite being fuller and warmer than those vintage designs, you can hear every note even when overdriving complex chords. The baffle design adds more woody character and warmth to the low mids. There's a subtle compression that adds more sustain for a more musical "feel". The cabinet design makes this 1x12 sound as big as a 2x12 or stack.
